GOD APPRECIATES YOU

GOD APPRECIATES YOU  – Matthew 25:21“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

You love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. Whether you’re a mom, dad, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, sibling, best friend, pastor, ministry leader, church volunteer, employer, or co-worker, your service reflects your love for God. But let’s be honest: sometimes you feel unappreciated. You’re not alone. Many of us experience moments when our efforts seem to go unnoticed.

Here are five reminders to help you navigate these feelings and continue giving God your best:

1. Remember Who You’re Working For

It’s disheartening when no one says “thank you” or acknowledges your hard work. In those moments, focus on Who you’re truly serving.

Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

God sees everything—every chore, every prayer, every act of kindness. He sees your dedication and values your efforts.

2. Remember Who Deserves the Glory

Isaiah 42:8 says, “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another.”

Sometimes, our desire for appreciation can overshadow our mission to glorify God. Ask yourself: If the only reward I receive is God saying ‘Well done,’ will that be enough? Surrender your pride and let God’s glory shine through your work.

3. Don’t Allow Others to Belittle You

1 Timothy 4:12 encourages us: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

Whether due to age, inexperience, or other factors, feelings of unappreciation can stem from how others perceive us. Instead of letting discouragement take root, be an example. Show love, faith, and resilience in all you do.

For years, I struggled with feelings of unappreciation. I played the organ, sang, preached, and did everything asked of me, yet others were chosen for roles I desired. One day, God spoke to me and reminded me of my unique calling. He said, “You have a platform to preach daily. Use it!” From that moment, I stopped seeking validation from others and embraced my purpose.

4. Be Thankful

1 Thessalonians 5:18 calls us to “give thanks in all circumstances.”

Even when you feel unappreciated, thank God for the opportunity to serve. Serving is a privilege and a blessing. When gratitude fills your heart, negativity loses its grip. Rejoice in the Lord, and let His joy be your strength.

5. Know Your Value

Luke 12:6-7 says, “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

God values you deeply and sees your worth. Your emotions don’t have to be dictated by your circumstances. Instead, they should reflect your worship of God. Fix your heart on Him, and you’ll find peace and purpose.

Closing Affirmation: I Am Somebody

Declare this with confidence:

  • I am somebody.

  • I may be young, poor, or different, but I am God’s child.

  • I deserve respect, protection, and love.
