I'm A Thriver

The story of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, illustrates the power of thriving despite jealousy, betrayal, and hardship. Joseph was gifted with dreams and a special coat, symbolizing his unique calling and potential. However, his journey was not easy. He faced betrayal, was sold into slavery, wrongly accused, imprisoned, and faced many obstacles, but through it all, he continued to thrive, trusting in God's plan.

  1. You Are Special to God

You were uniquely made, created in God's image, with an inherent ability to thrive. Your "special coat" represents your unique gift to grow, flourish, and prosper despite life's challenges. God has equipped you with the ability to thrive in all circumstances.

  2. You Are Gifted

Like Joseph, you have a gift—whether you realize it or not. Joseph had the gift of dreaming and interpreting dreams. Your gift may not always be obvious to others, but it is a crucial part of your journey. Never doubt that you are gifted and capable of greatness.

  3. Jealousy and Betrayal Are Common

One of the hardest challenges that gifted people face is jealousy. Just like Joseph's brothers, others may become envious of your success and try to harm you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Remember, some of the people closest to you may hurt you the most. But no matter how much others may try to tear you down, remember: you can still thrive!

  4. Beware of Thieves

People who steal from others, whether in relationships, careers, or businesses, are like thieves. If others try to take from you—whether it's your partner, dreams, or reputation—don’t let them. Get your own and build your own success. Life is about flourishing in your own lane and staying focused on your own journey.

  5. Joseph's Path to Prison

Joseph's story takes a dark turn when he's wrongfully accused and thrown into prison, but he never gives up. Instead of feeling defeated, Joseph worked his way up in prison. Your environment doesn’t define your potential. Even in the most challenging places, you can thrive, just like a mustard seed that grows in dirt.

  6. Thrive in Difficult Seasons

Just as seeds grow in dirt and require rain and sunlight, challenges in life are necessary for growth. If you're going through a difficult time, remember that you’re in the right place for growth. Through trials, you become grounded, just like a seed planted in fertile soil. You may be going through the dirt now, but you are being prepared for greatness.

  7. The Power of Dreams and Integrity

Joseph's integrity and wisdom helped him interpret the dreams of others, ultimately leading him to become the governor of Egypt. He didn’t let setbacks stop him from using his gifts. Even when falsely accused, he stayed true to his values. Integrity and perseverance are key to thriving in all circumstances.

  8. Forgiveness and Moving Forward

As Joseph’s story unfolds, he ultimately saves his family during a famine. This shows that those who hurt you might eventually need you. Forgive those who wronged you because sometimes, God uses your pain to position you for a future where you’ll be the one to provide for others.

  9. Your Moment Will Come

Like Joseph, those who wronged you may one day need your help. Keep moving forward with purpose and confidence, knowing that God's plan for you is greater than the hurt you've experienced. Your enemies will become your footstool.

  10. Embrace Your Identity as a Thriver

In this new year, you are called to be a thriver! This means letting go of past hurts, focusing on your potential, and trusting in God's provision. You don’t have to carry unnecessary drama, grudges, or negativity into 2025. Let go and thrive!

A Call to Action:

  • Forgive and move on: Don’t let bitterness or jealousy hold you back. Focus on your growth and thrive!

  • Stay true to your dreams: Your gifts and talents are your key to success. Keep working on your purpose, no matter the obstacles.

  • Build your own life: Don’t get caught up in trying to take from others. Build your own success, your own happiness, and your own peace.

As we enter a new year, declare yourself a Thriver—someone who will not let life's challenges stop them from becoming who God has called them to be.
